Limited Edition Dala Horse 1990's

IKEA porcelain Dala Horse, 75th anniversary edition. Red and blue detail on both sides. Height: 27cm x Width: 24cm x Depth: 7cm. Weight: 1kg. Date: 1990's. Rare find.
Dala Horses have been made since the 17th century, using leftover wood in cabinet-makers’ workshops. The name comes from Dalarna County where many of the distinctive Swedish symbols originate. When I worked as an Interior Designer for the IKEA catalogue, there was a vintage hand carved Dala Horse dressed in sheep's wool in the haberdashery room which I always wanted to use in my styling (but was never aloud) But, they did use it on one of the catalogue covers, see picture.
